The professionals at Green Cross have been trained at some of the nation's most prestigious graduate programs in plant science.
All Green Cross arborists are International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborists and NOFA Accredited Organic Land Care Professionals. They share a passion for integrating advanced academic knowledge with practical field experience to provide clients with effective and environmentally responsible tree and shrub care strategies.
Green Cross President and Founder Kent Pierce started Green Cross in 1989. He is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist, a NOFA Accredited Organic Land Care Professional, a former faculty member at The New York Botanical Garden, a graduate of the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and holds tree and shrub care supervisory licenses in Connecticut and New York. Kent and his family now live and work in the Hamptons on the South Fork of Long Island.
Green Cross Vice President Christer Lundstrom came to Green Cross, Inc from Seattle, Washington where he received a B.S. in Environmental Horticulture and Urban Forestry from the University of Washington. He is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist, Connecticut Licensed Arborist, NOFA AOLCP and holds tree and shrub care supervisory licenses in Ornamental in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. He has four young children, so he is very serious about proper use of pesticides in the landscape where children and pets play.
Territory Manager Nicholas Helms came to Green Cross, Inc. with an M.S. in Entomology from SUNY ESF and undergraduate studies in forestry and biology. He is NOFA AOLCP, an ISA certified arborist, a Connecticut state licensed arborist, and holds a tree and shrub care supervisory license in Connecticut. With a focus on pests, diseases, and proper pesticide usage in his studies, Nick is confident in bringing the right tools to a property to efficiently bolster plant health while being environmentally conscious.
Greggory Williams is the manager and arborist of the Millbrook, N.Y. office servicing Dutchess, Putnam, Greene, Ulster, Columbia, and Litchfield Counties in Connecticut. Gregg has a B.S. in Forest Health, which is the study of the interaction of woody plants and their diseases, insect threats, abiotic disorders, and soil. He is an I.S.A. Certified Arborist and Connecticut Licensed Arborist. Gregg’s passion is healthy trees, and often he can be spotted examining the nearest mushroom or interesting sign of insect herbivory. He lives in Dutchess County with his fiancé where they enjoy hiking, camping, mountain biking, and kayaking.
Jeff Decker is one of the managing arborists in the mid-Hudson Valley and Catskill areas, NY, CT and MA licensed, ISA certified. Jeff came to Green Cross with an M.A. in Biology from SUNY New Paltz, 8 years general tree care experience, and a passion for plant and soil health. Jeff lives with his growing family on a small farm in the town of Kingston, NY.
